I have to say, the title really is accurate about what you will find when you open the cover. This book is a collection of very short stories, or possibly better to call them anecdotes since each one is only a couple of pages long. Giant squirrels and a misunderstood Minotaur of mythology (he just wants to be your friend) kept me smiling. And yes, I did laugh a couple of times.
The stories are short enough to keep this book in your desk at work when you need to shake off what you're doing for a few minutes and dump your frustrations so you can go back to what you were doing in a better mood. He ties each of the stories together in a way that keeps everything relevant and yet stands well on its own. The stories are light, witty and (were I a doctor) just what the doctor ordered.
Now, ordinarily I wouldn't advocate keeping reading material in a car with the deliberate intention of reading, especially for the driver. But in this case, I would be willing to keep a print version of this in my car for those horrid traffic jams caused by construction or the imp of the perverse. Definitely a mood lifter.
Normally the books I tend to read are lengthy (500+ pages.) It was refreshing to read something light that not only made me smile, but kept me smiling and reading! I would love to see what else this author has written and plan to keep my eyes out for new books from him.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. You can find this and the rest of his books in the "Lunch Break Funnies" series at Amazon.
